How to Dismantle the High Performance Narrative with Rob Kalwarowsky #67
is first is you’re not alone i know that’s kind of a crack thing to say but you know it’s like i struggle lots of people struggle and it takes a lot of courage to ask for help but you need to like it took me the first time i was depressed it took me nine months to walk into a hospital and say i need help so that’s the other thing i would say is somehow find the courage to tell someone in your circle whether it’s your friend your family or a doctor it doesn’t matter go and find help what’s going on what’s going on what’s going on ballers and welcome to another episode of the beyond the ball podcast i’m your host jonathan jones and i’m excited to have another another guest today and um as you all know we we find amazing guests who are actually i mean phenomenal yes really just to be honest and uh bringing them on giving the opportunity for those you all might not know to bring them on to share stories strategies and successes because of course that’s the focus of beyond the ball ultimately helping student athletes succeed beyond their degree but hitting on those three stories strategies and successes so now we’re gonna go ahead and just bring out today’s guest and and this gentleman is a mental health advocate he’s a podcast host and even in addition to that he is a leadership coach now we’re going to go ahead and bring out mr rob kalvarovsky rob how are we doing good thanks for having me john how are you i’m doing good i’m doing good i got i got the enunciation of the name correct right better than a lot of people that i know oh yeah oh man well rob look i’m gonna go ahead kick it to you and uh go go ahead just just take a little bit and uh just go ahead and for people who you know this might be their first introduction to you go ahead and just you know just give a snippet on yourself and please go ahead take this time yeah so i mean as you know i mean i’m the host of dismantling the high performance narrative podcast with uh lauren williams and john was a guest a few weeks ago um but yeah we talk on that that podcast basically about mental health and performance and how us as high level athletes or people now in their business careers as entrepreneurs we also struggle and it’s okay to struggle um i read other stuff about me so i’m a i’m an mit graduate i have a mechanical engineering degree i’ve worked in heavy industry for about 10 years now in mining manufacturing oil and gas consulting and recently i’ve started this journey into leadership which i’m sure we’ll talk about later but it’s really something that i think as student athletes i mean we learn and we we experience good and bad leadership but it’s something to really lean into early in your career to get yourself where you need to be so that’s that’s where i’m at today yeah man i love that i love that so mit huh rob mit yeah yeah i was fortunate enough to get in um incredible school tons of incredibly smart hard-working people yeah it was an incredible experience i mean i have i have so many questions just about mit but shoot i’m open and then you graduated from mit with a mechanical engineering degree yes sir yeah so so you would say math math comes easy to you not easy but uh it’s definitely something that you can put in the reps and learn how to do man wow because i mean am i when i hear mit you know mit is like yeah i mean it’s it’s one of the it’s absolutely one of the top engineering programs in the world and when i was there i think we were ranked number one or two something like that wow okay okay so when you talk just in the work that you’re doing now what what was this something that that you all just in regards to like uh what what you were talking about just um the more so heavy duty work was this something that you envisioned earlier in your career like before starting college was this was this where you saw yourself going just in regards in regards to career trajectory not really like and this is where the leadership aspect comes in i think i took a lot of opportunities that came up for me so like i i was really passionate about playing water polo i i was on the junior national team in canada i won a national title um i played some tournaments internationally and then i sort of decided i didn’t want to play like i kind of had two options was like centralize and and try to make the senior men’s national team or or you know go to college and i felt like college was the best option for me like the canadian men’s team hadn’t made the olympics since the 80s so it didn’t seem like that was a logical way to go and so yeah i mean i started looking at ncaa schools and i was lucky enough to get into mit and something else that that kind of came up was like for me my parents very much stressed that your degree needs to have a return on investment like you need to go somewhere get a degree and that degree needs to get you a job and then that job needs to be a decent job and so that’s where the engineering part came in is it was an easy way to get a four-year degree that gets you a job um how i actually ended up in heavy industry was kind of a fluke like i i took a friend of mine to a hockey game in ottawa and i met her friend who worked in mining at the time and basically she was like hey we’re always hiring engineers send me your resume and like literally five months later i started at a coal mine in british columbia so it was it was kind of a fluke thing that was definitely not planned okay okay and then water polo talk talk a little bit about that because that’s not something that you you hear people talk about too too often was this something that you like like were introduced at a young age or what what’s your introduction with water polo and and then even how that continued just to roll yeah so for me i mean i started playing polo when i was nine years old and so like my parents were very early on the the like anti-concussion type of thinking and so hockey was out football was out um i can’t really run that well so so basketball and soccer were also out and then yeah like i got in the pool and it just it just sort of clicked for me and like yeah i got real serious about it really quickly like a lot of my coaches were former olympians um some of them were from overseas like from eastern europe and you know i started training you know seven to nine times a week basically when i was started to be like 12 or 13 and that continued all the way through like basically till i was 18 years old and then went to college so yeah it was it was a really serious thing for me um really quickly what was it like walking away from walking away from the sport after you’ve invested that much especially like you said you were you know going in multiple times a week and investing a lot of time and and then now you decide to walk away from what walk away from the game how did that impact you it’s tough right like when i started in mining at the town i lived and didn’t even have a team so it was like it wasn’t even an option um i i still well pre-covered i was playing here probably two two three times a week so i still like to get in the pool but it’s hard and i think it’s something that we forget about as athletes is like our career is going to end at some point and like whether that’s when we’re 22 and graduate college or whether that’s you know when we’re like you know 30 or 40 or whatever right and i think it’s like and this is something that i’m still working on is like you need to replace and sort of balance your life because otherwise when something ends it’s like you’re kind of floundering to try to figure out what you’re supposed to do man yeah so what balance have you have you put in place since you know to help you just just like like lev level out your life and just just with the work that you’re doing now i’m still working on balance john like it’s literally a conversation i had with my therapist probably two weeks ago um because for me i think and i think a lot of athletes will resonate with this is my life i’ve been trained to have singular focus and that singular focus leads to success and so it was like basically from i don’t know 11 or 12 till until 18 19 my singular focus was on water polo how do i get better every day at this how do i succeed at this how do we win games how do i get better um then when i got to college like i was still playing but just the academic load had to kind of take priority so it became how do i think all the time about mit about every class i’m taking about what i need to do today to to learn to get the a’s in the classroom and then really since college it’s been really difficult for me because i haven’t had a singular focus like my job and i think a lot of people resonate with this is like i found my college experience a lot more difficult than my working experience the job that i do now it’s like and my entire career has been you know fairly easy there’s not that huge deadlines there’s not significant workload and so you you really need to broaden your horizons and for me i’ve leaned into like entrepreneurship lately and like hosting the podcasts and like doing that type of stuff but like what’s really worked for me i guess in this last few months is i got a puppy and so he’s added a lot of elements to my life about like love and compassion and just even companionship that i was lacking before wow so you said you feel that college was more stressful from like now day to day what you do in the in the working world absolutely yeah i don’t even think it’s that close to be honest like um i i think i mean that’s it’s part of the load right like like mit we were training probably two we were training about two and a half hours a day six days a week so it’s like 15 hours a week plus you know plus games and tournaments and stuff and then the academic workload was extremely brutal um and yeah like right now i work a full-time job i consult part-time i run two podcasts and we just launched a leadership program and i still feel like i have lots of time in the day to do everything oh my goodness i i can’t imagine how rigorous your college your college schedule was if everything that you just mentioned you said a full-time job you said you got two podcasts in addition to launching the leadership program oh my goodness oh rob i’m i’m fearful of of college rob like what oh my goodness that’s a lot man it’s it’s a lot but yet for me it was the perfect environment and like i i read this news story before the super bowl and they were talking about tom brady and how he kicked out like gisele and his kids out of his his like huge mansion for two weeks just so he could solely dial in on the super bowl and i was like i understand that because i am that too and and that was the thing was like basically my entire career was was just obsessing over the next thing i would need to do to get it done so then i could get success in the classroom or success in the pool and like this has been a skill that every one of your listeners have cha have trained as part of their athletic career and i think like when you step out like basically my therapist called me an addict the last like a few weeks ago she said you’re addicted to success you’re addicted to this these feelings of achievement and i think it’s something that when you when you think about balance you’re trying to get away from that one element and like i’m not saying it’s healthy it’s definitely not healthy because it’s led to like severe depression in me but uh you know it’s it’s just i think it’s a product of how we’re raised hmm where do you think the line is like between being because if they’re like if i guess if obsession for success is like here but then being stagnant is he like where where is the line how do you how do you identify where the line is and how do you identify if it’s like if it’s too far or if yeah if it’s just too much yeah the line is difficult but really what it comes down to is are you able to survive without success in that one area and really what that means is are you able to validate yourself and the work that you’re doing yourself and that’s the part that we don’t learn as athletes right is like basically what we’re taught is if you score goals if you get points if you get assists if you get play time if you get minutes if you win these are the external validators that we look for to judge whether we’re doing well or not um those go away in the working world like you you’ll get performance reviews maybe once a year you’ll have deadlines depending on if you’re in consulting or just in a regular job you’ll have deadlines but a lot of the times basically you submit a report or you’ll do a project and like you’re not getting too much feedback like people will say you’re doing fine or you know but it’s not this like very s easily driven metric based like i can look at the results and say hey i did this and i think that’s the the part that’s that’s where the balance is is if you can and this is what i struggle with too is like if if something that you like let’s say you know you’re launching a program and nobody signs up if that’s catastrophic for you then you’re not you don’t have enough balance but if you’re able to say like hey you know i put in great work on this program i see the work that i did and i know it’s quality and maybe i need to make a few adjustments or maybe i pitched it to the wrong audience like these are you know some things i can do better next time then i think that that’s more where you need to be as as an entrepreneur as a person wow rob this is really good really good i mean because i spent a lot of time on the mic jonathan man yeah man because i mean these are these are these are conversations that i don’t think we have as often and really just assessing especially as we look through the lens of going from college to career or college to corporate like we see the thing that’s shiny we see the the pay or you know if we know about benefits then we see the benefits but ultimately we don’t see what we’re losing or we don’t see what like what we need essentially going from because like that’s huge thinking about going from being you know a star athlete or being an athlete because for me i was a division three athlete but even then after the games you know you go to the parties people people know your name because you’re an athlete and then you go like and and you know celebration is the external motivators of like how society lets us know oh good job good job we see you we celebrate you but then what happens when there’s no more hand claps there’s no more there’s no more pats on the back then then where where is my space in the world you i mean you’re so right and i’ll tell you my experience right so when i started my career i was working as an economist i was making like 52 000 a year and i told you the part where i met this woman who worked in mining and it and the job opportunity was like it’s an engineering job it was going to pay me basically like another 25 30 000 a year but it was in this small town there was no polo there wasn’t like i didn’t know anyone out there and it was like what’s the decision like i could live in a city i could play polo on my regular you know on my regular team i could have all my friends there i could do the things that i was normally doing or i could move out there and make like 50 percent more money but lose all that other stuff and i took that decision about moving out there because basically because my parents were like well the money’s good and it’s in the career that you studied in college and you know it led to like years of depression that i’m still working through and so i think it’s like that’s the part that i talk about in this personal leadership stuff and what you kind of mentioned is what are your values and like what are the things that you love to do those are non-negotiables like that extra 25 000 a year it’s not gonna like meaningfully affect your happiness on a day-to-day basis and then and then even in our honesty because coming coming out of college if you don’t necessarily if you don’t have that extra 25 000 then you’re you’re able to live without it but then when you get it of course you know you increase your lifestyle and certain things you might might go out to eat a little bit more go to the bar a little bit more go to different places just a little bit more based on having that but still you know if if you end up being depressed at the end of the day is is it worth it like was the decision worth it it’s like it’s probably not yeah yeah yeah man probably not man these are these this is a good conversation rob i i’ve never i i didn’t look through from the lens of of your perspective because i’m not you but it’s this make this makes a lot of sense this this makes a lot of sense so so like now if as you look through look back over your life right and you just think of what would be like either your biggest failure or a failure that as you as you see it right what what are what are you able to extract from that from that failure yeah i mean honestly i’m not sure i would call it failure i think where i am at my life is is really in this mode of pivoting um and it’s really this this element of self-discovery right like i’ve been living my life a lot and i had this thought that their day in therapy was like i’ve never made a decision for myself basically ever and i’m now i’m 32 years old and so i think that’s the real key piece that i want people to take away is even the first question is just understanding who you are because probably about if you would have met me a year and a half ago and asked me who i am i would have said hey you know i’m an engineer i’m a polo player and i’m like a podcast host and it’s like these are these are titles and resume items that we’ve done they’re not exactly who we are and now i would say something like i’m a leader you know i care about helping people i want to impact a lot of people in both mental health and leadership spaces you know i want to you know change people’s lives for the better and i think it’s very much more driven from this place of of impact and you know why i’m here which is which in essence like i had to go through these like the depression the suicide attempt and like all this other stuff to find the path out and then that path out is where i’m going now that’s really prolific right that’s really prolific really like it i mean it really is just just the level of awareness that that you’ve come to just just based on that because right you said the the you know the water polo player you know the this the that that and listening it off going back to like what we were talking about before because yes those things are great conversation starters right and and those things are also when when you say that you probably hear responses like oh i’ve never met a water polo player depending on region you know depending on region where where you connect with the individual but the other way just like you said it it’s more it’s more other centered it’s more of a other centered approach versus a i guess you can say selfish centered approach if you will wow what what what what would you say has led to that though like for you to be more more others focused and and you now to be more more service focused or leadership minded help me out rob help me out yeah and that’s really where some of the elements that we’re going to bring into the leadership program that lauren and i are doing and the work i’ve done with lauren’s boss is is really led to that and it’s really been more of this connecting to who you are understanding your values understanding what you’re good at and what you’re able to to do and just realizing i guess why you’re here and and i know that’s a tough question to say to people like if i was 21 and you would have said to me why are you here like i don’t have an answer for that i wouldn’t have an answer for that but i think that the experiences that we all go through whether they’re easy or difficult or they push us or they don’t they all end up in this place where you can draw meaning from it and i think we all i mean meaning is a need like if you if you ask and you if you take this like nihilistic point of view and say the world doesn’t have meaning you can get really dark really quickly and i think that’s where it is is you have to ascribe the pain that you’ve gone through or the trauma or you know these hard working situations or you you achieving success after working hard in an athletic career like these things have to have meaning and so you have to find what’s the meaning on the other side yeah i mean i love that because if you if you don’t attribute meaning to the other side just like you said that that really will go down really fast really quickly really really quickly because it can make it be so easy to find you know find something to upset you versus being intentional and shifting like something i know that’s been more popular as of late it seems like it’s it’s really popular um but but gratitude even though i mean people have been saying gratitude for years but when you start hearing people like gary vee say it then it it blows up it blows up man gratitude i like i honestly like i really struggle with gratitude and i don’t know what it is i’m sure there’s some element of like vulnerability that i can’t get to yet but but i really think like yeah it absolutely works if you can get there i think the other aspect is just like yeah you you need something that you feel is going well for you and that’s where the gratitude is kind of connected is like you’re looking for elements in your life that are positive where a lot of people’s brains and this is a survival thing is like you look for the negative because you want to distance yourself from the negative because it’s like you know you’re in a cave and there’s a bear coming you want to run away right um but life’s not like that anymore like most of us are not dealing with like acute physical danger and so it’s like very much we we can work on our mind and shift it towards seeing the positives um do you think gratitude’s something you struggle with because you’re you’re used to like striving for such like a high level like competing at a high level desiring to you know win the trophy to to do this to do that and it’s always like you’re always looking up yeah and that’s that’s a thing like i’m sure most people who are listening to this will will resonate with is it’s it’s a perfectionist type strategy right and it’s i only will be successful if i get the top trophy you know or if i’m the mvp if i score to most goals if i get the highest grades like all these things and it’s it comes from a place of like lack of self-worth because you’re trying to prove to the world by achievement that you belong or you’re worthy of being alive and a lot of that stuff like i had i had a conversation with a friend of mine he’s out of finance and he said some of the the people say that the hedge fund managers that make billions of dollars it’s they got there because they didn’t want to go to therapy oh man wow right but before before we get to the two-minute drill we’re gonna wrap this thing up man i’ve been enjoying that conversation um but i i want you i want you to talk a little bit more about uh high performance narrative because i don’t think you talked about high performance narrative and then also also just talk a little bit about lauren as well because everybody might not know lauren um so if you could talk about those two that’d be that’d be great yeah so i’ll start with lauren she’s she’s the co-host of dismantling the high performance narrative she she’s been a high level women’s hockey player for a long time she was trying out for team canada she was on team ontario she went to university of wisconsin and won a national title with them she was the first overall pick of the worcester blades that’s the women’s pro league in the u.

Open Apereo 2021: openEQUELLA Community Updates
hi my name is Alistair Oliver director with edalex and a member of the open equella global advisory group today i’m going to talk to you about the platform explain what it does its purpose and how institutions globally are using the platform i’ll also talk about its roadmap to start with let me tell you about edalex edalex and its staff have been working with open equella for a number of years we partner with other providers of open equella support around the world and we’re currently responsible for all open equella development so what is open equella traditionally open equella is known as a learning content management system with its primary purpose to store learning content however over time it has evolved to be known as a digital repository in that it’s capable of storing any type of digital content whether that content relates to learning content research materials library assets or media assets as a single point for managing and finding digital content institutional users are easily able to find content reuse it and repurpose it content within equella can relate to copyright materials and content can also be tagged with digital rights open equella has a powerful workflow engine so that content that has to undertake a quality assurance process can easily be reviewed it also handles archiving and versioning of content but for most of our users equella is used in connection with their learning management system so whilst learning management systems do many things very well they are very course-centric in that content is often locked down within a particular course whereas open equella opens up that content so that many many users across the institution can access it open equella has been implemented in a wide number of ways by our clients to start with most clients use the platform to store learning resources or open educational resources that are then linked into third-party platforms such as the learning management system but over time institutions recognise they’re able to store any type of digital content within the platform so many of these other use cases can often apply such as the storage of copyright materials the development of thesis collections the storage of resources relating to research such as research materials and publications and also for institutional governments including the storage of really any type of digital asset open equella is currently used by a large number of universities tafe and community college systems k-12 departments and corporate training providers around the world so let’s hear from some of open equella’s users hi my name is paul and i’m going to show you how to access and use tafe queensland learning content management system badged resource bank resource bank is an open equella application used to support the management of master product licenses and associated content images supplementary content staff training resources and commercial product access this includes tafe queensland own resources and externally owned resources that tafe queensland have licensed or have permission to use all staff of tafe queensland can access resource bank 24 7 both from on campus or from an external location resourcebank provides the ability for staff to contribute discover and use resources across the state which has assisted in the consolidation of development time consistency of unit content and access to the most recent version of master product our master product the units of competency that have been developed quality checked and are made ready for delivery including assessment content exports from our learning management system and the original source files so what’s coming next we’re looking forward to the next upgrade which will introduce an improved image gallery with lightbox display appearances for our image collection so um california college of the arts i’ll just really briefly um tell you about it because we’re a relatively smallish institution um this year kind of post covid disruption we’re at 1600 fte um last year we were a little closer to 2000 so you know we’re dealing with that um we have two campuses san francisco and oakland and our faculty body is largely made up of practicing artists and designers um so this makes for an institutional culture of experimentation agility flexibility lots of need everybody wants their own thing right so nothing terribly unique but a very big driving force in our implementation of openequella so first i wanted to mention just our customized theme everyone can go to vault.

Positive Affirmations Letting go of the past Forgiving by Louise Hay
your body knows how to heal itself get the negative garbage out of the way then love your body feed it nourishing foods and beverages pamper it respect it create an atmosphere of wellness allow yourself to heal my willingness to forgive begins my healing process i allow the love for my own heart to wash through me cleansing and healing every part of my body i know i am worth healing i trust my inner wisdom there is a place within each of us that is totally connected with the infinite wisdom of the universe in this place lie all the answers to all the questions you will ever ask learn to trust your inner self as i go about my daily affairs i listen to my own guidance my intuition is always on my side i trust it to be there at all times i am safe i am willing to forgive if we sit in a prison of self-righteous resentment we cannot be free even if we don’t know exactly how to forgive we can be willing to forgive the universe will respond to our willingness and help us find the way forgiveness of myself and of others releases me from the past forgiveness is the answer to almost every problem forgiveness is a gift to myself i forgive and i set myself free i am deeply fulfilled by all that i do we will never have the opportunity to live this day again so we want to savor every moment there is richness and fullness in everything we do each moment of the day is special to me as i follow my higher instincts and listen to my heart i am at peace in my world and affairs i trust the process of life we are learning how life works it’s like learning your computer when you first get a computer you learn the simple basic processes how to turn it on and off and how to open and save a document how to print and on that level your computer works wonders for you and yet there is so much more that it can do for you when you learn more of its ways it’s the same thing with life the more we learn how it works the more wonders it performs for us there is a rhythm and flow to life and i am part of it life supports me and brings me only good and positive experiences i trust the process of life to bring me my highest good i have the perfect living space our living space is always an outpicturing of our current state of consciousness if we hate where we live now then no matter where we move we will end up hating that too bless your current abode with love thank you for providing for your needs say that you are moving on and that wonderful new people are moving in to take your place leave love when you move and you will feel love in the new place before i found my current home i decided that i wanted to buy a house from people who were in love of course that is exactly what i found my home is filled with the vibration of love i see myself living in a wonderful place it fulfills all my needs and desires it is in a beautiful location and it is at a price i can easily afford i can release the past and forgive everyone we may not want to let go of old hurts but holding on to them keeps us stuck when i let go of the past my present moment becomes richer and fuller i free myself and everyone in my life from old past hurts they are free and i am free to move into new glorious experiences the point of power is always in the present moment no matter how long you’ve had a problem you can begin to change in this moment for as you change your thinking your life also changes the past is over and done and has no power over me i can begin to be free in this moment today’s thoughts create my future i am in charge i now take my own power back i am safe and i am free i am safe it’s only change what we believe becomes true for us the more we trust life the more life is there for us i cross all bridges with joy and ease the old unfolds into wonderful new experiences my life gets better all the time i am willing to change we all want life to change and other people to change but nothing in our world will change until we are willing to make changes in ourselves we often cling so tightly to habits and beliefs that no longer serve us in a positive way i am willing to release old negative beliefs they are only thoughts that stand in my way my new thoughts are positive and fulfilling it’s only a thought and a thought can be changed the most frightening scenarios we can conceive of are only thoughts we can easily refuse to scare ourselves in this way you want your thoughts to be your best friends thoughts that shape your world in a positive way comforting thoughts loving thoughts friendly thoughts laughing thoughts thoughts of wisdom and upliftment i am not limited by any past thinking i choose my thoughts with care i constantly have new insights and new ways of looking at my world i am willing to change and to grow every thought i think is creating my future i am constantly aware of my thoughts i am like a shepherd with a flock of sheep and if one goes astray i lovingly heard it back in line if i notice an unloving unkind thought going astray i quickly and consciously replace it with a kind and loving one the universe is always listening and responding to my thinking process i keep the line as clean and clear as i can the universe totally supports every thought i choose to think and to believe i have unlimited choices about what i can think i choose balance harmony and peace and i express it in my life there is no blame if we walk a mile in someone else’s shoes then we understand why they behave the way that they do we were all born beautiful little babies totally open and trusting of life with lots of self-worth and self-esteem if we are not that way now then somewhere along the line someone taught us otherwise we can unlearn the negativity i release the need to blame anyone including myself we are all doing the best we can with the understanding knowledge and awareness that we have i let go of all expectations if we don’t have specific expectations then we cannot be disappointed but if we love ourselves and know that only good lies before us then it doesn’t matter what comes up because it will be fulfilling i flow freely and lovingly with life i love myself i know that only good awaits me at every turn i see clearly the unwillingness to see certain aspects of our lives can cloud our vision this unwillingness to see is often a form of protection optometrists do little to cure eye problems they only prescribe stronger and stronger glasses poor nutrition can also contribute to poor eyesight i release all the things from my past that cloud my vision i see the perfection in all of life i willingly forgive i breathe love into my vision and i see with compassion and understanding my clear insight is reflected in my outer sight i am safe in the universe and all life loves and supports me i carry this affirmation in my wallet whenever i reach for money i see i am safe in the universe and all life loves and supports me it is a good reminder of what is really important in my life i breathe in the fullness and richness of life i observe with joy as life abundantly supports me and supplies me with more good than i can imagine my life is a mirror every person in my life is a reflection of some part of me the people i love reflect the loving aspects of myself the people i dislike reflect those parts of myself that need healing every experience in life is an opportunity for growth and healing the people in my life are really mirrors of me this affords me the opportunity to grow and to change i balance my masculine and feminine sides we all contain masculine and feminine aspects when these two sides are in balance then we are whole and complete the totally macho man is not in touch with the intuitive side of himself and a weak wispy feminine woman is not expressing the strong intelligent side of herself we all need both sides the masculine and feminine parts of me are in perfect balance and harmony i am at peace and all is well freedom is my divine right we are put on this planet with total freedom and we make these choices in our minds no person place or thing can think for us if we do not allow it we are the only person who thinks in our mind in our minds we have total freedom what we choose to think and believe can change our current circumstances beyond recognition i am free to think wonderful thoughts i move beyond past limitations into freedom i am now becoming all that i am created to be i release all fears and doubts fears and doubts are only delay mechanisms that keep us from having the good we say we want in our lives so let them go i now choose to free myself from all destructive fears and doubts i accept myself and create peace in my mind and heart i am loved and i am safe divine wisdom guides me too many of us are unaware that we have within us an inner wisdom that is always on our side we don’t pay attention to our intuition and then we wonder why life does not work well learn to listen to your inner voice you do know exactly what to do i am guided throughout this day in making right choices divine intelligence continuously guides me in the realization of my goals and i am safe i love life every morning when i wake up i get to experience another great day a day i’ve never lived before it will have its own special experiences and i’m glad to be alive it is my birthright to live fully and freely i give to life exactly what i want life to give to me i am glad to be alive i love life i love my body i’m so delighted to live in my wonderful body it has been given to me to use for the rest of my life and i cherish it and take loving care of it my body is precious to me i love every inch of it inside and out that which i see and that which i don’t see every organ and gland every muscle and bone every single cell my body responds to this loving attention by giving me vibrant health and aliveness i create peacefulness in my mind and my body reflects this peacefulness as perfect health i turn every experience into an opportunity when i experience a problem and we all have them i immediately say out of this situation only good will come this is easily resolved for the highest good of all concerned all is well and i am safe i repeat this statement over and over it keeps me calm and allows the universe to find the best solution i am often amazed to see how quickly the issue can be resolved in a way that benefits everyone each problem has a solution all experiences are opportunities for me to learn and grow and i am safe i am at peace deep at the center of my being there is an infinite well of peace like a mountain lake deep and serene no person place or outer chaos can touch me when i am in this space in this space i am calm i think clearly i receive divine ideas and i am so peaceful divine peace and harmony surround me and dwell in me i feel tolerance compassion and love for all people myself included i am flexible and flowing life is a series of changes those of us who are rigid and inflexible in our thinking often snap when the winds of change blow but those of us who are like willow trees bend easily and adapt to the new changes if we refuse to change then life passes us by and we get left behind just as a flexible body is more comfortable to be in so is a flexible mind more comfortable to live in i am open to the new and changing every moment presents a wonderful new opportunity to become more of who i am i flow with life easily and effortlessly i now go beyond other people’s fears and limitations i am not my mother’s fears and limitations nor am i my father’s fears and limitations i’m not even my own fears and limitations these are only false thoughts that have been hanging around in my mind i can erase them as easily as i can clean a dirty window when the window of my mind is clean i can see clearly the negative thoughts for what they are and i can choose to eliminate them it is my mind that creates my experiences i am unlimited in my own ability to create the good in my life i am worth loving so many of us were taught conditional love therefore we believe that we need to earn love we feel that we are not lovable if we don’t have a great job or a good relationship or a body like a model this is nonsense we do not have to earn the right to breathe it is god-given because we exist so too is the right to love and be loved the fact that we exist means that we are worth loving i do not have to earn love i am lovable because i exist and others reflect the love i have for myself my thoughts are creative i have learned to love my thoughts they are my best friends i say out to every negative thought that comes to my mind no person place or thing has any power over me for i am the only thinker in my mind i create my own reality and everyone in it i am at peace with my sexuality believe that in many lifetimes i have experienced every sort of sexuality i have been male and female heterosexual and homosexual sometimes society has approved of my sexuality and sometimes it has not my sexuality has always been a learning experience for me as it is in this lifetime yet i know that my soul has no sexuality i rejoice in my sexuality and in my own body my body is perfect for me this lifetime i embrace myself with love and compassion i am at peace with my age for me it is always now yes the numbers add up with time but i feel as young or as old as i choose to feel there are people at 20 who are ancient and there are people at 90 who are young i know i came to this planet to experience every age and they are all good each age unfolds into the next as easily as i allow it to happen i keep my mind healthy and happy and my body follows suit i am at peace with where i am in time and i look forward to all my precious days each age has its own special joys and experiences i am always the perfect age for where i am in life the past is over i cannot go back in time except in my mind i can choose to replay yesterday if i want but replaying yesterday takes away precious moments out of today moments that once gone cannot be retrieved so i let yesterday be gone and i turn my total attention to this moment of today this is my special moment and i rejoice in it this is a new day one that i have never lived before i stay in the now and enjoy each and every moment i release all criticism people who are self-righteous and judgmental have the most self-hatred of all because they refuse to change themselves they point their fingers at everyone else they see wrong everywhere because they are so critical they attract much to criticize one of the most important decisions we can make for our own spiritual growth is to totally release all criticism of others and most of all of ourselves we always have the option of thinking kind thoughts unkind thoughts or neutral thoughts the more kind and loving thoughts we have the more kindness and love we will attract in our lives i only give out that which i wish to receive in return my love and acceptance of others is mirrored to me in every moment i am willing to let go i know that each person has divine guidance and wisdom within them so i do not have to run their lives for them i am not here to control others i am here to heal my own life people come into my life at the right time we share the time we are meant to have together and then at the perfect time they leave and i lovingly let go i release others to experience whatever is meaningful to them and i am free to create that which is meaningful to me i see my parents as tiny children who need love when we have problems with our parents we often forget that they too were once innocent babies who taught them to be hurtful how can we help them heal their pain we all need love and healing i have compassion for my parents childhoods i now know i chose them because they were perfect for what i had to learn i forgive them and set them free and i set myself free my home is a peaceful haven homes that are loved and appreciated radiate that love even if you are there for a short time be sure you put your love into the rooms and if you have a garage put love there too and keep it neat and tidy hang a picture or something attractive so when you first come home you enter through beauty i bless my home with love i put love in every corner and my home lovingly responds with warmth and comfort i am at peace as i say yes to life life says yes to me life has always said yes to you even when you were creating negativity now that you are aware of this law of life you can choose to create your positive future life mirrors my every thought as i keep my thoughts positive life brings me only good experiences there is plenty for everyone including me there is so much food on this planet that we could feed everyone yes there are people who are starving but it is not the lack of food it is the lack of love that allows this to happen there is so much money and so many riches in the world far more than we know if it were all distributed equally within a month or so those who have money now would have more and those who are poor now would once again be poor for wealth has to do with consciousness and deservability there are billions of people on this planet yet you will hear people tell you that they are lonely if we don’t reach out love cannot find us so as i affirm my self-worth and my deservability that which i need comes to me in the perfect time space availability the ocean of life is lavish with its abundance all my needs and desires are met before i even ask my good comes from everywhere and everyone and everything all is well in my world my life has always worked perfectly only i did not know it i didn’t realize that every negative event in my world was life reflecting back to me my belief system now that i am aware i can consciously program my thinking process to have a life that works on all levels everything in my life works now and forevermore my work is deeply fulfilling when we learn to love what we do then life sees to it that we will always have interesting creative occupations when you are ready emotionally and mentally for the next step in life life will move you to it give your best to life today i do what i love and love what i do i know that i am always working in the right place with just the right people and that i learn all of the valuable lessons my soul needs to learn life supports me when you follow the laws of life life will support you abundantly life created me to be fulfilled i trust life and life is always there at every turn i am safe my future is glorious our futures will always represent our current thoughts what you are thinking and saying right now is creating your future so think glorious thoughts and you will have a glorious future i now live in limitless love light and joy all is well in my world i open new doors to life as i walk down the corridor of life there are doors on every side each one opens to a new experience the more i clear the negative thought patterns from my mind the more i find doors that open to only good experiences my clarity of thinking brings to me the best that life has to offer i rejoice in what i have and i know fresh new experiences are always ahead of me i greet the new with open arms i trust life to be wonderful i claim my own power and i lovingly create my own reality no one can do it for you only you can make your own declarations in your mind if you give your power to others then you have none when you claim your power it is yours use it wisely i ask for more understanding so that i may knowingly and lovingly shape my world and my experiences i now create a wonderful new job bless your current job with love and release it with love to the next person who takes your place knowing that you are moving into a new level of life keep your affirmations for the new position clear and positive and know that you deserve the best i am totally open and receptive to a wonderful new position using my creative talents and abilities working with and for people i love in a wonderful location and earning good money everything i touch is a success we always have the option of poverty thinking or prosperity thinking when we think thoughts of lack and limitation then that is what we experience there is no way you can be prosperous if your thinking is impoverished to be successful you need to constantly think thoughts of prosperity and abundance i now establish a new awareness of success i know i can be as successful as i make my mind up to be i move into the winning circle golden opportunities are everywhere for me prosperity of every kind is drawn to me i am open and receptive to new avenues of income when we are open and receptive life will find many ways to bring income to us as we know and affirm that we deserve all good the infinite source will open new channels we often limit our own good by believing in fixed income and other closed ideas opening our consciousness opens the banks of heaven i now receive my good from expected and unexpected sources i am an unlimited being accepting from an unlimited source in an unlimited way i am blessed beyond my fondest dreams i deserve the best and i accept the best now the only thing that keeps us from having the good in our life is that we don’t believe we deserve it somewhere in childhood we learned that we didn’t deserve and we believed it now it is time to release that belief i am mentally and emotionally equipped to enjoy a prosperous and loving life it is my birthright to deserve all good i claim my good now life is simple and easy the laws of life are simple far too simple for many people who want to struggle and complicate things what you give out comes back to you what you believe about yourself and about life becomes true for you it is that simple all i need to know at any given moment is revealed to me i trust myself and i trust life and all is well do you.
