I study the current condition of whale populations in the Canadian Arctic. More precisely, I study the impact of climate change. and humans on the populations of beluga whales and narwhals.

My job is to explore the deep sea. Using robots and large ships, I go out to sea and I look at animals and places that have never been documented before. The craziest thing I’ve seen in the deep sea is when the light of the submersible brought in two massive predators and the swordfish ended up eating the squid. I grew up in South Africa on the beach.
