My job is to explore the deep sea. Using robots and large ships, I go out to sea and I look at animals and places that have never been documented before. The craziest thing I’ve seen in the deep sea is when the light of the submersible brought in two massive predators and the swordfish ended up eating the squid. I grew up in South Africa on the beach. I was always surfing, diving, swimming, and when I wasn’t, I was at home watching National Geographic and The Discovery Channel. Don’t worry about the kids in science class that tell you that’s not what girls do, keep doing it and enjoy it because it’s gonna take you really far in life.
