An invisible barrier had stood between us and the future. Heavy like reinforced glass, intangible like the size of micrometers. Silently it had slipped across the continents, to the doors of our daily lives , of our bodies. For a long time the scientific technicalities had not interested us and what concerned another continent was , as usual, unperceveid. Who cares about the massacres that take place on the Greek border, who cares about the infant mortality rate in tribal areas of Africa, who cares about the systematic extermination of the Uyghurs until the police knock on your door asking you “where have you been n the past two weeks?” Then and only then, awareness This time is your time what happens in the world is about you, about you, your family, your children, your parents.
01:20 - And the only thing that matters is getting to safety Get to safety in a disorderly way run away, maybe go back to the happy south where quarantine measures are not needed , because the infrastructures (that are not there) already think about isolating you. We thought we were safe because why is it possible that our beautiful lives can change? we have not experienced any war, no famine. Life has always been magnanimous with us we have only seen the sun of the earth and the snow we have reserved for the mountains to ski on it without ever carrying it inside. We were happy and sad, because this means being human before that the most important word, hissed at first in mid-voice, almost silently in the incredulity of the suburbs, then shouted more and more in the squares became: resist. Finally ,hygiene measures make us a united people.
02:37 - We have an enemy now who is not the immigrant or the southerner We are all human beings and we just have to… wash our hands. Will we understand love for each other now that we have to forcefully stay away? .
