- Hi, everyone. This is Sitara at Ring, and I’m here to answer your questions on what are all of our different power options for our Security Cameras? I’m going to break it down between Hardwired and Wired and Battery and Solar. So let’s get into it. [MUSIC PLAYS] So when it comes to hardwiring and wiring your devices, you have a couple different options. The first is hardwiring with a junction box. For that, we have our Floodlight Cam and our Spotlight Cam Mount. This is an advanced DIY, so if you’re not super comfortable, we recommend using a licensed electrician.
00:36 - The second is our Power over Ethernet, so like with our Stick Up Cam Elite. This requires a ethernet connection and provides continuous power and internet connectivity. Our last option is a simple plug-in with an AC adapter into a standard wall unit. For that we have our Spotlight Cam Wired, our Stick Up Cam Plug-In, and our Indoor camera. In general, I prefer wired devices because it’s sort of a set-it-and-forget-it, and that way, you don’t have to worry about charging your device.
01:03 - But, again, it depends on what you have available and whether you have that capability. For Battery and Solar, it’s as easy as adding one of our Quick Release Batteries to our Spotlight Cam Battery or our Stick Up Cam Battery. You can add a Solar Panel to either of these devices to help keep your battery charged if it’s in direct sunlight. These are great options if you have an area that may not have a wired connection but you still want additional coverage. I hope that helps you understand all of our different power options.
01:31 - If you have any more questions, just drop a comment and we’ll try to get to it on our next episode of Ask Ring. Thank you for tuning in. See you soon. [MUSIC PLAYS] .
