(relaxed pop music) - Why is that every time I film making coffee, the time that I run out milk? (relaxed pop music continues) Good morning, Happy Valentine’s Day! - Happy Valentime’s Day.

00:42 - - We’re going on a hike. A few years ago, Drew and I made fun of the fact that people say Valentime’s. Valentime’s.

00:49 - So now it’s just kind of a thing. Happy Valentime’s.

00:52 - - Happy Valentime’s Day. Sorry, I’m fixing the filter in my mask.

00:55 - - That’s okay. - [Voiceover] A few moments later.

00:57 - - Update, we actually arrived at the place that we were going for the hike and we’d only been there once before.

01:03 - We actually went on my birthday and it’s more like a, like a park area.

01:07 - And then there are, it’s a mountain behind it.

01:09 - And then there are trails where you can like hike up the mountain or hike around the mountain or whatever.

01:13 - And that’s what we were going to do. And when we went on my birthday, we went, it was great.

01:17 - There was like nobody there. And then when we pulled up today, he was like, there was someone in the booth and he was like, “Hi, that’ll be $7. ” And I was like, I don’t have any money.

01:28 - We brought our IDs and like our keys and stuff.

01:31 - But we were just trying to like minimize the amount of stuff we brought.

01:35 - So we literally were just like, “Oh. ” I was like, “Oh my gosh, I’m, I’m sorry.

01:40 - The last time we came, we didn’t have to pay.

01:42 - I didn’t know. “ And he was like, “Well, that’s not true because you always have to pay. ” And I was like, “Oh yeah there was nobody here last time. ” And he goes, “Well, there’s a self pay station right there. ” And he like pointed to it.

01:53 - And like, we just didn’t even see it last time and breezed right past it.

01:56 - Whoops. So we thought about going back, ‘cause it’s like a good 20 minutes away from where we live.

02:01 - And we thought about going back to our house and getting money and then coming back.

02:06 - But I think we’re just gonna like, call it.

02:08 - - We’re going to go for a walk. - We got a nice scenic drive out of it.

02:12 - And now we’re going to just walk around the neighborhood as per usual.

02:15 - Ugh, the thought of that kind of makes me sad.

02:17 - - What? - I just want like a change of scenery.

02:21 - - Leila will love it. - Yes she will.

02:22 - - She’ll be so happy, and it’s her birthday.

02:24 - - It is! Oh my gosh, I forgot to mention that.

02:26 - When I got her, I brought her, because you know I rescued her, and I brought her to her first vet appointment and they said “Birth date?” And I was like, “Oh, um, the rescue guess is that she-” ‘Cause by that time it was June, I was like, “The rescue said that they think she was maybe born in February. ” And they were like, “Well, we have to put a date.

02:42 - Do you want to put a date?” And I was like, “I don’t know. ” And they go, “How about Valentine’s Day?” And I was like, “Okay!” - She was born on Valentine’s Day.

02:50 - - That’s become her birthday. She could have been born in January.

02:53 - She could have been born in March. She could have been born in December.

02:56 - We don’t know. But her birthday in this house is Valentine’s Day.

03:00 - So we got some ingredients. We’re waiting on a grocery delivery right now.

03:04 - And we are going to get her. Oh, that is very bright! We’re going to make her a little dog, like a doggy-safe cupcake.

03:11 - Like a very tiny tiny tiny little cupcake for her birthday.

03:16 - - We’ll cut the ingredients by like, a fourth.

03:19 - - Yeah. It’ll be super cute. She needs to be groomed so badly.

03:24 - We need to do that for her. We couldn’t take her on the trail walk because she can’t walk for that long.

03:30 - So this works out better because now she gets to walk out of it.

03:33 - Even though we would’ve come home and walked her anyway.

03:36 - We’re just doing it sooner. She’s very happy.

03:38 - All right. So we are back from our lovely walk.

03:41 - We also actually ordered some groceries, made some breakfast, just finished eating and now we’re going to make a doggy cake! I’m so excited for this.

03:51 - So Miss Leila, as I mentioned my little baby is 10 years old.

03:55 - So she needs like a small little situation.

03:59 - So what I’m thinking is this recipe actually makes like an eight inch round cake.

04:04 - But I think I’m just going to do it into like cupcake muffins.

04:07 - I don’t know. I don’t, we don’t give her like people food or a lot of treats or anything like that.

04:11 - She’s on a pretty strict diet. She’s on prescription food for her weight and stuff.

04:15 - So it’s like, ugh. But it is her birthday.

04:17 - And like, you got, you gotta live a little.

04:19 - You know what I mean? This angle is just… still not great.

04:24 - You know what? It’s okay. My beautiful flowers, I can smell them so strongly right now.

04:29 - Ugh, look how pretty! They’re so cute.

04:32 - Drew got them from Urban Stems. You look so pretty.

04:35 - Everything is a TikTok reference now, oh my God.

04:37 - A lot’s happening. I will link the recipe that I got down below.

04:40 - It’s called, “Love from the Oven” is the blog that I saw.

04:43 - I just Googled like “dog cakes. ” And what you’re going to need is a cup of flour, half a teaspoon of baking soda, eighth of a cup of vegetable oil, a quarter cup of peanut butter, this is running low, half a cup of applesauce, a cup, or half a cup of pumpkin puree and one egg.

04:59 - These are all, I mean, consult your vet. Like Leila’s had all of these things before.

05:04 - She’s had pumpkin. She’s had applesauce, or apples.

05:07 - She’s had peanut butter and then like, you know, it’s going to be a very small controlled amount.

05:13 - So please, please just like, let us enjoy this.

05:16 - It’s not going to harm her. There’s also a frosting, which we did buy the stuff for.

05:21 - I’m not a hundred percent sure if we’re going to do it.

05:23 - Maybe just a tiny bit, but it’s literally peanut butter mixed with Greek yogurt.

05:26 - Like plain Greek yogurt. So we’ll see.

05:28 - Okay. Preheat oven to 350. Got it. Drew’s outside watering the plants, if you can hear the hose.

05:34 - Also, learned so much about all of you when I did the last vlog.

05:39 - I asked, “who sets the timer on the microwave?” Some people were like, “I set it on the microwave. ” “I set it on the oven. ” But the majority of you said you either use your Google Home or Alexa or your phone, which I agree.

05:49 - Like, absolutely. But a lot of times I’m using my phone for recipes and it literally takes one second to just go over to the microwave and type it in instead of like go to my phone, go to the timer.

06:01 - I don’t use Siri that often. I don’t know.

06:03 - Sometimes it weirds me out. Like everyone is listening.

06:07 - Even though they’re already listening. Oh, I should also show this game changer that I just purchased recently.

06:12 - It, I mean, it’s like not revolutionary but for me I was like, “Holy crap.

06:17 - This is the coolest thing ever. “ And now it’s just made such a difference.

06:21 - Also, yes, I did paint my nails for Valentine’s Day.

06:23 - Look how cute, pink and white. Okay. Anyway.

06:25 - I bought these little drawer divider things on Amazon and it has made such a difference.

06:30 - If you would have seen this drawer previously, it was literally just like a pile of shit.

06:35 - And now it’s all organized. We also put one, I think in here.

06:39 - Yeah. So this is like where our mask/gloves situation is.

06:43 - Like our PPE, if you will. And then I think, did I put another one right here? - [Drew] Look at your dog.

06:49 - - [Carrie] What? - [Drew] I had the hose on.

06:54 - - [Carrie] Are you hiding? (laughs) - [Drew] I had put it on and she ran away.

06:58 - - [Carrie] She thought she was going to get a bath.

07:00 - That day is coming soon, but it’s too cold today, okay? Look at our pretty plants out here.

07:05 - They look beautiful. Happy Birthday! She’s like, “Get me away from the hose. ” For a retriever mix, this dog hates water.

07:13 - Anyway, we put another one right here. We’ve been putting like dish towels and other things but those are all being washed.

07:18 - So yeah, how cute! Also, yeah, long story, but there’s a massive leak under our kitchen sink.

07:24 - We have to get it fixed, so this was all the stuff that was under our sink.

07:27 - Okay. Anyways, they’re measuring stuff. All right.

07:30 - One cup of flour. Half a teaspoon? I need to double check that it said that but I’m pretty sure it’s half a teaspoon.

07:37 - That is so satisfying. Oh, I can use my little thing.

07:41 - I think I’ve shown this before as well but it’s like a little gadget from Amazon where you can either put like a recipe book, like this, or you can put an iPad or you can put your phone.

07:49 - You just do this and you can read your recipe really well.

07:52 - So that’s what I’m going to do. In a separate bowl mix together - [Drew] The wet ingredients! - [Carrie] Vegetable oil, peanut butter, applesauce, and pumpkin.

08:00 - Then once it’s combined, then you mix in the egg.

08:03 - - Carrie Peanut butter and jelly.

08:06 - What was that from? - [Drew] I don’t know.

08:08 - I just remember it as a kid. CatDog? No.

08:11 - - Why does it feel like a Mary Kate and Ashley thing? - How much of this? - Half cup.

08:16 - Let us know what kind of peanut butter you like in the comments.

08:19 - We’re a Jiff family through and through, right? - Yeah.

08:24 - - Did you grow up eating Jiff? - Yes.

08:26 - - Me too. - My parents wouldn’t buy anything else.

08:29 - - My dad likes crunchy Jiff, though. - Well that’s disgusting.

08:32 - - A lot of people would disagree. A lot of people think that creamy peanut butter is gross.

08:36 - - One time I accidentally bought crunchy, and I was very upset.

08:38 - - Oh, because that would ruin your whole day.

08:41 - - My whole month. We’re just gonna use the whole thing.

08:44 - - [Carrie] Okay. - Don’t need to measure it.

08:46 - - Do you want to use the hand mixer? - [Drew] No.

08:49 - - Are you sure? - [Drew] Yeah, that’s like, another thing to clean.

08:52 - - Whoa, this looks weird. Okay, yum yum.

08:57 - Oh baby, that color. - [Drew] That sound! - [Carrie] Yeah. Ooh, that smell! - [Drew] Yeah, it smells like pumpkin and peanut butter.

09:06 - - [Carrie] Pumpkin and peanut butter! - [Drew] Okay, and now you’re adding the egg.

09:10 - - They say you’re supposed to crack it on the counter, but I did that this morning when we cooked our breakfast and the shell went everywhere.

09:17 - See? No. Just what even? Okay. Well there you go.

09:25 - Best I could do. It stinks. I do not like the smell of this.

09:29 - We got a hand mixer from my mom for Christmas, ‘cause I think she was so repulsed watching us bake Christmas cookies without a mixer.

09:38 - She was like, “You need one. ” So she bought us a nice little hand mixer and we’ve used it a couple of times.

09:42 - We’ve used it to like mash potatoes, like whipped potatoes and stuff, but I’m too lazy to get it out, so.

09:49 - - [Drew] I mean, it’s out. - Oh, well, whatever.

09:51 - This smells really bad. - [Drew] Well just wait until we start baking it.

09:55 - - Ugh. - [Drew] We have a problem. We should’ve used the hand mixer.

09:59 - - I literally just said, I am so… Sweetie, I am so sorry if you are a baker and you have to watch me continually just be awful at baking in my videos.

10:11 - I’m so sorry. - [Drew] You need a hand mixer? - Um, yeah.

10:14 - Okay, so I’m like I just said, we’re going to use the hand mixer.

10:17 - - So we got this hand mixer. - And we’re going to use it, like I just said.

10:21 - (mixer whirs) - [Carrie] Much better.

10:27 - (relaxed pop music resumes) - [Carrie] Okay, there we have it.

10:37 - It says that these go on the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

10:41 - That feels so long. But this is like a weird, this is like a rubbery dough almost.

10:46 - Very interesting. We’ll see. See you in 30 minutes.

10:52 - (microwave beeping) See? That’s faster than if I were to go on my phone.

10:58 - Like it’s just faster, you know what I mean? (Drew laughs) Fight me.

11:02 - Is there anything more romantic than folding laundry on Valentine’s Day on the kitchen counter? (relaxed pop music resumes) - [Carrie] Hmm.

11:28 - It’s a little while later and we’ve gotten ourselves a little more put together.

11:33 - I’ve got this little shirt that I got from Thredup that I love.

11:37 - And it’s so funny because we were joking around that we obviously are just going to be laying around at home today.

11:42 - So we were like, “Let’s wear pajamas, but like something a little nicer. ” So I’m wearing semi-cute tank top with some cute gray shorts.

11:51 - And that’s my Valentine’s Day outfit. We actually came back up to our room because our Switch is connected to the TV in our room.

11:56 - And we recently just bought a game called - [Drew] “Super Mario 3D World”.

12:01 - - We bought “Mario 3D World” that also comes with “Bowser’s Fury”, but we’ve been playing “Mario 3D World” and we were both screaming.

12:09 - I was like, “I wish I would’ve had the camera. ” We were just like trying to figure this game out.

12:14 - So we’re ordering some Firehouse Subs for lunch.

12:16 - That’s our Valentine’s day treat. Firehouse is so good.

12:21 - We also have a towel on my pillowcase because I’m really I don’t like to, if I’m wearing makeup and I’m like in my bed, I don’t like getting makeup on my pillow case.

12:30 - It just freaks me out. I like to have like a nice clean face when I lay on my pillow.

12:34 - But anyways, we’ve been having a blast and if you want to know what cool kids do on Valentine’s Day Play Nintendo. Play Mario.

12:43 - All right, you ready to lose? It’s weird because we’re playing sort of against each other but it’s really just we play together.

12:50 - - Well we share lives - We play together, yeah.

12:52 - Well, you’ve killed me a couple times. - Okay, one time and I was shooting fireballs and you walked in my way and I picked you up.

12:58 - - (laughs) I walked in your way, right. Yes.

13:00 - - Sorry. You were in my way. - Okay.

13:05 - - Did I kill you that time too? - I think so.

13:08 - (both laugh) I’m a cat! Oh yeah, you’re a cat in this game as well, in parts.

13:13 - It’s very confusing. Why am I going so hard for this one coin? - I don’t know but I can’t go any further until you come up here.

13:20 - - Well, it was very important to me. All right, bitch, listen.

13:24 - I’m on a wall behind you. Oh, that doesn’t work.

13:27 - Doesn’t work. Look at me crawling sideways.

13:29 - Oh, I’m falling! - Oh, careful. - Why can’t I fucking go? Go faster! - Where are you? You’re bouncy.

13:38 - Oh shit. - Got it, we got it. Ah! Oh wow, we did it.

13:44 - Oh… frick. - We’re gonna get fast.

13:47 - (Drew screeches like a cat) - Wow, did I just do that? I had no idea.

13:51 - Birds- - How did you? - can kiss my ass.

13:54 - Are those coins in the water? I’m swimming, I’m swimming! - Oh, how’d you get up there? What are you, where are you? I did a handstand.

14:02 - - How? I’m on top of a tree. What, what are you? Oh God.

14:06 - Oh God oh God oh God oh God. Well, how do you go so fast, how do you go so fast? I just killed a bee.

14:11 - Save the bees. - Not these bees. - Not these fucking bees.

14:15 - I’m dead. - Me too. - Ah! - We died.

14:19 - - We died. - What the fuck? - I’m just going fast, I don’t know what I’m doing.

14:22 - I died. (both laugh) Did I just Leroy Jenkins us? - Yeah, you did! We only have four lives left.

14:33 - - I’m sorry (laughs) I really just said “Leroy Jenkins. ” Oh God.

14:40 - Oh God oh God. I hate it. I hate it! (screams) - Ooh, a ballot.

14:44 - Oh, you be cat. I’ll be a flower. I do much better as a cat.

14:48 - I just lost it. (both gasp) - You have me.

14:52 - You picked me! (both laugh) - I picked you up - You were like, “You killed me!” - I picked you up, put you on my shoulders, and then fell off into the abyss.

15:07 - I suck very bad. This is what we’re doing.

15:11 - While you are watching us scream. We died.

15:16 - - [Voiceover] Three hours later. - Whoa.

15:23 - You know those lazy weekends when you take a nap for two hours and you wake up and it’s like dark outside? That’s us.

15:29 - It’s a lot later in the day now. It’s like 6:30 and we’re going to give Leila her little birthday cake/cupcake, whatever.

15:37 - But like I said, the recipe says that you can make a little frosting out of plain Greek yogurt and peanut butter, so we’re going to do that.

15:45 - Only a little bit though. So we have this plain Chobani Greek yogurt.

15:50 - We could do a little pumpkin in it, too. Got some leftover pumpkin from the can and some peanut butter.

15:56 - We’re just going to make a delicious, tiny, tiny like I’m talking like barely half a spoonful of each thing.

16:04 - Ooh, the sunset is really pretty. Can you see that through the window? Probably not.

16:09 - It’s so much nicer in person, but it’s like hot pink.

16:12 - Are you joking? Okay. The camera just, no, is not doing it.

16:17 - It is so gorgeous. Wow. You look so pretty.

16:20 - We’re going to do like this much Greek yogurt.

16:22 - It smells like a peanut butter cookie. Now, by the way, our house stunk when those things were baking.

16:28 - It was like not a good smell. - [Drew] It’s very bland tasting.

16:30 - - Yeah then we tasted it and it’s just like an unsweetened muffin or something.

16:35 - A little bit of pumpkin. Pumpkin is actually really good for dogs, FYI.

16:38 - - [Drew] Yummies. - We don’t need to put peanut butter.

16:40 - - Drew But she wants peanut butter.

16:42 - - There’s already peanut butter in it. You can’t give dogs too much peanut butter.

16:45 - You can give them a little bit, yeah. This is fine, this is fine for frosting.

16:50 - - [Drew] Yeah. - I’m going to skip the peanut butter because there’s already peanut butter in it and it’s just too much.

16:54 - My gosh, this is so cute. - [Drew] Yeah, get her candles in there.

16:57 - I want to take a photo, a picture. - Same.

17:00 - Okay, we’re going to get her cake ready. We’ll reconvene.

17:06 - I can’t believe my baby’s 10! (Carrie cries) - [Drew] Leila, you want a treat? - [Carrie] Careful.

17:13 - Oh my God. Oh my God. - [Drew] Here here here here here.

17:16 - Wait, Leila, look at me. Leila, over here. Hey! ♪ - [Both] Happy birthday to you. ♪ ♪ Happy birthday to you. ♪ ♪ Happy birthday dear Leila. ♪ - [Drew] Stinky baby.

17:56 - You could not just eat it like a normal dog, right? Wow. Okay.

18:05 - That was delicious. A special treat for your birthday.
