Dayam Rizvi from India, finalist of the StudyNT 2020 International Student of the Year Award

Hi guys. My name is Dayam Rizvi. I am an international student from India. I come from Lucknow which is another city situated in the northern part of India and the capital of northern most province called Uttar Pradesh. I arrived in Darwin on 3rd February 2020. I was deeply inspired by my brother who was living in the Northern Territory for the past three years. I joined Darwin High School on 5th of February when I started my schooling. Till now it has been seven months for me living in Territory.

00:31 - During COVID-19 I joined the Indian Association to assist in the distribution of free meals through the Indian Association representatives here, and to give the meals to the unfortunate ones. And I also assisted my local coaches which include me as part of the community cricket corporation for me to helping them follow the COVID-19 safety plan so that it can be a good cricketing environment for other teenagers like me, can be safe and can play good cricket following the protocols of the Australian Government for COVID and make the Territory COVID safe. The Territory is very special to me because the education institutions here are very good and very supportive. They don’t just help you in your studies, they also go beyond the studies to help you in your personal life by providing good suggestions. And in my future I want to be a commercial pilot for one of the airlines in Australia. .
