Tanja Kleut’s keynote about accessibility has drawn the attention This young blind woman has described her user experience on the web For me it was very important to participate, to talk about accessibility Most developers are not aware that today screen-readers are so powerful I wanted to show that the content can be fully accessible when it is designed with accessibility in mind. I think it is very important because there are 15% of persons with disabilities, Accessibility will surely benefit those 15% but will also benefit all the others It’s important to raise awareness This year we tried a slightly different formula we’ve added half a day ahead, with longer talks, 3 hours sessions with deep dives into specific topics next year, I think we’re going to have 2 full days The goal is to bring an event that is a bit more than just a series of conferences where people sit hence there is some surrounding animation, it’s cool and allows participants to chat, and to share interesting feedback We have sponsors contributing and helping us a lot to organize this event Mauro Strione’s keynote gave a solid impression, he dealt with an organizational topic in an humoristic manner I get a lot of good feedback I’m an agilist and the best way to communicate is face to face so we have to take advantage of the technology Technology is HOW we change and people are WHY we have to change so, we need a balance Voxxed Days Luxembourg is also about conviviality and sharing opportunities We connect with a lot of people, conference participants are very benevolent, it’s really a pleasant atmosphere for example this person in the queue, we just met him, and we chat with him, while waiting in the queue, that’s great! It’s also a chance to meet with former colleagues who took different roads and to chat a lot it’s part of the overall ambience to be able to meet and chat with people that’s the fun of being at an event in that sure, you can watch the talk on Youtube, but you won’t be able to interact with the speaker in person and actually discuss about “Why did you talk about this part, it’s…”, that’s the beauty of (having) being present at a conference! .
