How to : Check Wi-Fi Speed and check Wi-Fi Signal Quality (cmd)

Most of the times, we are using wifi with laptops and notebooks So in this video, we will see, how to check your wifi speed and quality. In this video, we will use cmd prompt to check the wifi speed and quality. Go to Start menu > type “cmd” open the cmd prompt with “Run as administrator” This how the cmd prompt shows then type this command netsh wlan show interface then press enter Now you can see your current wifi profile and its information the important information are Wifi SSID and connection status connection speed in Mbps Download speed (receiving rate) Upload speed (transmission rate) with that you can see the wifi signal strength wifi profile name you can see the same wifi name in the wifi profile. Here the receiving rate means the download speed and the transmission rate means the upload speed. Also, the signal means the overall quality of the wifi connection.

01:57 - This signal strength showing as a percentage value. You can see that my current signal strength is 96%. According to this value you need to know an important thing. If this value is less than 60%, which means your connection is weak. Because of that, your internet speed could be slow. And if this value is more than 80%, that means your connection is good. And also you can make quality video and audio calls even. This is how you can check your connection speed and strength. by using cmd prompt. Also, you can check these same values by using GUI. Right-click on the wifi icon then go to network internet settings. then click network and sharing center.
