🚫 How to Delete or Deactivate a Facebook Account Temporarily from Phone 📱 or PC 💻

Hello everybody! In this video, I’m going to show you how to delete a Facebook account, how to deactivate and remove your personal account and a company page, both from PC and a mobile app. «Facebook» is one of the most popular platforms for users to communicate and exchange information on certain topics they are interested in. However, with all the attractive aspects of using «Facebook», there could be situations when you may want - or need - to deactivate your account for some time, or even remove it from this social network. There can be very different reasons to do so: from a desire to create a new account to avoid cleaning the old account from numerous posts and subscriptions but to give Facebook a new start, to an attempt to keep your data from being leaked to third parties or preventing a possible unauthorized intrusion and guarantee your privacy. Later in this video, I’m going to show you in detail how to quickly deactivate or delete a Facebook account, and how to save necessary data from your account in advance.

01:38 - In «Facebook», you can choose to either deactivate an account temporarily or delete it entirely. When deactivated, the account doesn’t work anymore and other users can’t see your «Facebook» account. However, deactivation doesn’t remove any data or published posts, and lets you use «Facebook Messenger» to chat with your friends. Later, you can activate your account at any time, if necessary. On the contrary, you can’t activate an account again when it has been deleted.

02:09 - All of its contents will be removed without any chances for recovery, and you won’t be able to sign in to other web resources that use the «Log in with Facebook» option. Also, removing a «Facebook» account will make you lose access to «Facebook Messenger» and all your chats there. Deactivating a «Facebook» account The procedure for deactivation of an account in «Facebook» is easy and only takes a few simple steps. Open your Facebook page in any browser. In the upper right corner of the page click on the triangular icon to access «Settings». In the settings page, switch to the tab «Your Facebook Information».

02:46 - In the central part, choose «Deactivation and Deletion», by clicking on the line or on the link «View». In the Deactivation and Deletion page, check Deactivate Account and confirm your choice by clicking Continue to Account Deactivation below. To make sure the account can’t be deactivated by accident or deliberately by third parties, «Facebook» will ask you to enter the current password to your account again, and click «Continue» to confirm your choice. At the final stage of deactivation, check the boxes for required settings (for example, next to «Keep Using Messenger», if you want to chat with friends in this app), and then click «Deactivate» to accomplish the process of blocking your account and removing your name and photo from most materials you shared on «Facebook». When you need to activate your account again, just repeat this procedure step by step and make your account active again.

03:37 - How to save a copy of your data Now let’s see how to delete an account. Before doing it, though, you need to know how to save all your data before you remove it from the social network. Go to Settings again, open Your Facebook Information, and select «Download Your Information» - just click on it. The next page will show you the list of all categories that can be saved. Check the ones you need - for example, if you are interested in photos and videos only.

04:17 - Leave the box checked for this item, and uncheck all others by clicking Deselect All. The last step is to click “Create File” and Facebook will initiate collection of data and prepare it for download as an archive file. Depending on the amount of your data, it may take from a few minutes to several hours. As soon as it’s ready for download, «Facebook» will send you a notification that will show up in the corresponding panel. In the tab «Available Copies» you can save a file containing a copy of the information you have selected.

04:57 - After downloading, open it to make sure it contains all the data you need. Now that everything is all right and important data has been saved, proceed with removal. How to delete an account Go back to Settings - «Your Facebook Information» - «Deactivation and Deletion». Now, check the option Permanently Delete Account. Confirm your choice by clicking Continue to Account Deletion. Now you have to confirm it is your account by entering your password. When you do it, you will see a warning that your account will be removed in thirty days. Finally, click «Delete Account» to start the process. Remember that «Facebook» will not delete anything from your account for 30 days so you can go back to this account at any time and cancel the deletion - if you still need to use it. How to save data and delete a connected company page.

06:09 - Finally, let’s see how to delete a company page, or business page. Here are the steps you need to take. Open the company page you want to delete. In the main control panel, choose «Settings». At this stage, you can also save the data you need for the future. Scroll down to select «Download Page». It will open the link «Download Page», where you can get access to copies of posts, photos, videos and all other information in such page. Choose all the necessary data by checking the boxes next to the corresponding categories or click the link «Select all» if all data has to be saved.

06:52 - The company page information has less categories than you would see in a user account information. Only the following options will be available. … Now click «Create File», and wait for the notification that the archive is ready. Download the file and check the data. After you make sure the necessary data has been downloaded, proceed with the deletion. Go back to the settings and select «Remove Page».

07:40 - The «Remove Page» section will contain a text link «Delete /plus/ «Company Name»», clicking on which starts the deletion process. Confirm your decision by doing it. How to delete an account from a mobile app Finally, I’ll show you how to delete an account from a mobile app. To deactivate an account from a mobile device, start the Facebook app, and tap Menu – Settings – Account Settings. Scroll down to find the line Download your information where you can back up your data before proceeding. Now tap Account ownership and control - Deactivation and deletion, choose what you need just as you did it from the computer, and confirm your decision by tapping Continue to account deactivation.

08:33 - To remove a company page, open it and in the upper right corner, tap on the gear-shaped Settings button. Then move to General, and scroll down until you see Remove Page. Now tap on the link Delete Page and confirm your decision. Now you know how to deactivate your account or completely remove an account or company page.
