This work is the consolidation of a long process where my idea was to combine the professional development that I had in my whole life in the area of technology and software development with the knowledge acquired in the electroacoustic composition degree at the National University of Arts what I tried to do in this interactive work is to look for a work that transcend the limits of the composer himself and can also interact with other participants that enrich, complement or modify the musical experience. When I thought about how to translate this idea of interactive work and movement to the piece, I thought of dance as the discipline par excellence of movement, and this is how what I developed is a musical piece that reacts to the movements of a dancer in real time. I used a motion tracking interface using a video camera and depth sensors that reads the dancer’s movement in real time and then modify, enrich and transform the events that take place in the music. In this way this work is a participatory experience where the performer and composer are co-creating in real time what happens in the music. It’s the first time I worked this way, with a software that reads my body, that reads my movement, and that not only that but for every movement I make emits a sound.
02:17 - The creation of the choreography was from that, music made me move with her and, in turn, in the moments that I had control, I also generated music, not as in the creation of a traditional choreography where music is made and then comes the movement, It was about making music and my body go hand in hand. Usually when we think of music we think of works that are presented to us finished, in fundamentally unilateral experiences where we follow the idea that the composer tried to transmit In this combination between disciplines and fields as technical on the one hand as creative and abstract on the other, I feel that define very well what I wanted to achieve in this work and a way of thinking that I also applied to many of the projects that I carried out in my life. .
