- Now turn with me if you will, to Genesis 15.
00:05 - All warfare is around God’s covenant plan. And a lot of us need to press in to better understand covenant and to better understand the war over covenant.
00:25 - I think a lot of people war and their heart’s right in the war, but they don’t really understand the covenant that they’re warring for.
00:38 - And they don’t understand what’s come against that covenant and how we have to war.
00:44 - So Robert and I will be teaching, others perhaps, on this, because this becomes very important.
00:52 - Of course, I think many of you know that God made covenant with mankind after the flood.
01:00 - Noah got off the boat, built an altar. You’re gonna understand that rekindling the altar fire becomes very important as we move forward.
01:11 - Now there’s another book that I think is important right now, it’s called “A Triumphant Kingdom”.
01:15 - I’m not sure we understand kingdom, I’m not sure we understand how we have to learn to communicate.
01:22 - Kingdom has a language, it’s not the same language of this world.
01:29 - And we have to learn to speak the kingdom language.
01:33 - Look at somebody and say, old dogs can learn new tricks.
01:37 - (congregation laughing) Now, some of you, you don’t know this language very well.
01:44 - And there’s a lot of young people that don’t know this language because they haven’t wanted to learn it.
01:51 - But if we’re going to make it in days ahead, we have to understand kingdom language and learn how to communicate, because I’ll tell you right now and I’m just encouraging, you know that, there will come a time, you will not be able to communicate the way you’re presently communicating.
02:12 - We’re already seeing it, it will escalate. Therefore, we are a kingdom above all kingdom, we have been given the ability to communicate in ways that others will not be able to understand what are saying.
02:26 - - [Congregation] Yeah. - I can go back 50 years almost, where people didn’t understand what I was saying, and it’s just ‘cause I was in a different kingdom.
02:38 - (audience laughing) But we’re getting more and more used to how kingdom speaks and you’re going to have to be wise and go and say, I got to go see what that’s talking about because you have a kingdom manual.
03:00 - Lift your kingdom manual up. Now, I don’t care what you’re using, whether it’s the phone or whatever it is, but you have a kingdom manual that you need to learn.
03:14 - And like never before we’re having to learn it.
03:17 - Now in that kingdom, there is covenant. One of the things that I see God doing and I said it when I did Sid Roth, is He’s making us one new man.
03:32 - Now I’m gonna tell you something that’s gonna press us in to looking like something we don’t look like now.
03:42 - And I remember speaking one time at a messianic college, and I said, you know, you’re gonna come to a place where you know you need the Gentiles.
03:56 - We’re gonna have to come to a place that we know God is working on all of us.
04:02 - Now look at somebody and say, you can handle a little more work.
04:06 - (congregation responding) And God made covenant with man, and Robert has been teaching us on that, because He called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldees.
04:31 - And Abram some way knew to follow Him, it was built in Him.
04:38 - You go back and you’re gonna see his lineage goes back into Shem who had a blessing when he got off the boat.
04:49 - And so always you can find that thread of blessing, even if you’re the beginning of the thread.
04:59 - And God made covenant with him. Now, it took a while for God to make covenant with him.
05:08 - Covenant means agreement. And the word of God says He cut covenant, He cut covenant.
05:15 - That’s a different word. And so it becomes very, very important that we see that the further we go, the clearer our covenant agreement with the Lord becomes.
05:29 - And with that, let me just go back over for a moment.
05:34 - It took Abram a lot of time before God could make covenant with him.
05:41 - And a lot of testing before God could make covenant with him.
05:46 - He went through lots of tests, and then God made covenant with his children.
05:52 - That was what happened when his son, his only son, Isaac, laid himself on the altar.
05:59 - God made covenant with Isaac. See, so the altar always plays in to covenant, but there’s a couple of things I wanna say before Robert comes about covenant because when God started making covenant with Abraham, there’s a verse I want you to see in verse 10.
06:22 - “So Abram brought all of these to Him and cut them down the middle,” all the sacrifices that God had given him.
06:32 - Now, people, giving is not an Old Testament concept.
06:38 - “For God so loved the world,” He gave what? “He gave His only Son. ” (congregation responding) You find the concept of covenant is always linked with giving.
06:52 - “And he brought all of these things to lay on the altar, he cut them down the middle. ” And when he did that, look what verse 11 says, “The birds of prey swooped down on the carcasses, but Abraham drove them away. ” We have a responsibility to, when we’re worshiping, to watch how the enemy comes in to stop the progress of our worship.
07:30 - Then we have as covenant people a responsibility to drive those birds of prey off of our covenant.
07:44 - (congregation responding) And He watches how we operate with the birds of prey.
07:57 - And as He watched how Abraham operated with the birds of prey, He continued making covenant promise to him because he knew Abraham had come to a place, not only to believe, but to war for what he believes.
08:19 - (congregation clapping) And then the Lord began to lay out covenant.
08:28 - And He said, “Your descendants will multiply, your land will multiply, you will prosper. ” You might be thinking, why is he going all the way back to Abraham? Why do they always go all the way back to Abraham? Because the Lord came, shed His blood to tie you back to this blessing.
08:47 - (congregation responding).
