From R, how to install and launch MetaShARK MetaShARK is a graphical interface to facilitate using all NCEAS / KNB amazing work on EML! Thank you so much!! Browse EML specification Access original EML documentation Upload datapackage (EML + data/script files) to existing metacat portal Fill in EML metadata from files Create a new project (or load an existing one) Upload files (for now only text files) You can modify file names, description and add an URL if accessible remotely Attributes informations are automatically infered! Review, modify or add content! each attribute is a primary variable, a “column” of your data file You can look at the attribute content preview to help filling informations Browse data files each attribute class is detected and need curation by default, units are “dimensionless”, don’t hesitate to change it! You can define custom units based on a parent unit in the SI For categorical variables, you can add informations by category Define geographic coverage from data files columns or manually Define taxonomic coverage from data files columns in association with a taxonomic reference Enter personal informations, copy/paste your ORCID… magic ;) Fill in textual informations in markdown or from file (Abstract, Methods, Additional info) & specify Temporal coverage and Keywords Using MarkDown syntax, you can structure your text with sub-sections, notably of interest for the Methods field! Finally, create your EML document Once EML document validated, you can generate a data paper skeleton ;) And browse your nice data paper draft! You can browse your created EML document, in xml format browse others files created by MetaShARK as this taxonomic coverage file, with ITIS generated information you can find on the EML document .
