Hello and Welcome! I ran on situation that i have forgot my password What i can do now? Situation is that disk is encrypted Use Recovery key No i don’t have…. Okey! What are options to recovery from this situation? Use backup or full wipe and reinstall OSX from blank situation No problem i got bakcups from files on cloud, i can use those after reinstalling OSX Notice this recovery method will remove everything from computer disk! Okey shutdown osx now Press Command and R button after start computer And release buttons after Apple icon come up Keep in the mind that this disk is encrypted and it narrow recovery options Okey On the recovery mode you can also try to restore password with recovery key Open Recovery Assistant - menu to start disk wipe Remember is will wipe disk completely Click Erase MAC After Erase is ready computer will reboot Then start computer and presse command + r to get back to recovery otherwise it boot to folder icon only Then computer required internet access for loading installation content Content load takes about 30 min - 2 hours depending on internet connection Now installation goes to recovery mode were reinstallation can be made Now you can restore from Time machine backup or make reinstallation For reinstallation first prepare disk and select Disk Utility Erase/format Macintosh HD - disk or remove it and recreate it Then back to main menu and reinstall This take some time….
