Technicians are surely amazed when they read that you should do this using any piece of paper. It is welcome to be a bit more precise. I have a rigid glass plate printer. In this case, you only need three screws according to the rules of mathematics and geometry. A fourth inevitably bends the level! i have removed the rear left set screw. when leveling, I first set the front left screw to 1 / 10mm. then the right rear screw. now the right front screw acts as a rocker. if you raise the front right adjusting screw, the rear left point of the table lowers The test blocks in the 4 corners are designed with a height of 0.15mm. The printed dimensions usually deviate.
For perfect leveling, measure the actual height of the cuboids with the caliper and adjust accordingly. The set screws have a certain thread pitch: M4 = 0.7mm - M5 = 0.8mm - M6 = 1mm - M8 = 1.25mm If you turn an M6 adjusting screw by one full turn, the table rises or falls exactly 1mm. If the screw head has teeth or serrations, the stroke can be calculated very precisely: A 10-point set screw with M6 thread raises / lowers exactly 1⁄10 mm per point! One 18-point M5 screw by 0.8mm / 18 teeth = 0.044mm per point! this is a very precise change in size, more accurate than the display of the caliper.
