I am going to share recipes of two easy, tasty and healthy snacks One is savoury and other is a sweet Sometimes we crave for either sweets or spicy chaat but the shops might not be open to buy one During those times, we can prepare a simple snack at home to satisfy the craving Some of us might be cautious of the calorie intake of these snack and feel that these will increase your calories This recipe is suitable for them as well. We could prepare this easily using the ingredients available at home It takes just 5 minutes to prepare each recipe that we are going to see today. Hope you will like it. Our first recipe is a mixture with puffed rice. Usually mixtures are prepared using a lot of oil and by deep frying the ingredients But since we are using puffed rice, we will only consume 2-3 tbspn of Oil.
01:16 - Also we are going to prepare at least 6 servings of that mixture This is a healthy alternative and there wont be lack of taste compared to usual mixture. Lets see how to prepare it! Take a frying pan and add 3 tbspn Oil to it Crush 4 Garlic cloves with it’s skin on in a mortar and pestle Add those garlic cloves to the heated oil We are sauting the garlic in oil to add the flavour of the garlic to the oil. This will add extra taste to the mixture We have to fry this for 5 minutes. The garlic should get caramelised and turn into brown colour Saute it until it becomes brown Once the garlic turns into brown colour, take it out of the frying pan If you enjoy garlic, you can leave it in the pan as well and mix it along with other ingredients Add dried curry leaves to the pan. This is optional. You can also add fresh curry leaves if you have them Next, I am going to add some groundnuts.
This is also optional ingredient 02:46 - Next, I am going to add 1⁄4 cup of roasted chana dal gram/ bengal gram. This is optional as well But adding these ingredients will add flavour to the recipe Next, I am going to add 1⁄4 cup of cashew nuts. This again is an optional ingredient All the ingredients that we added should be sauted until they give an aromatic fried smell. We don’t need to fry a lot for this. Just 2 minutes on a medium flame is enough as long as the oil is hot Now the ingredients have turned into a nice golden colour. At this stage I am adding 1⁄4 tspn of Turmeric powder Then I am adding 1⁄2 tspn chilli powder and giving it a mix Now I have a bowl full of puffed rice.
Lets add it to the frying pan 03:49 - You can get this puffed rice in almost every supermarket. If you are living abroad, this should be available in Indian supermarkets Mix this thoroughly in low flame Add Salt as needed to the pan. I am adding 1⁄2 tspn Salt Now close this with a lid like this and shake it well Our puffed rice mixture is now ready!! This smells really good because of garlic and other ingredients This is crunchy and tasty. Please try this for sure. Lets look at the next recipe The next recipe that we are going to master is Laddoo using dry fruits I have taken four varieties of nuts and dates as ingredients. You can take any nuts that you like to eat.
I have taken 1⁄4 cup each of cashews, almonds, groundnuts and pistachios 04:57 - You can change the proportion of the nuts you have taken or you can use only one variety of nut. Make sure it adds up to only one cup Firstly take all the nuts in a food processor or a mixer and grind it to have a coarse texture Once you grind the ingredients, it should be coarse like this Next I have taken 1 cup of dates I have taken soft dates so the binding of ingredients is better when we mould the laddoo Lets grind this as well to form a nice paste Take a pan and transfer all the coarsely grinded nuts. Dry roast it in a low flame Once the nuts are roasted, it will give an aromatic smell. We should dry roast it until we get that smell We can even prepare this without roasting the nut mixture. But if we roast it, the taste will be even better This has now roasted very well and has started to give the aroma.
I think it is time for us to add the dates that we prepared earlier as a paste 06:29 - Keep this in low flame and mix it well It is a bit of a difficult step but if you are not able to do this, you can even mix it with your hands once it’s cooled a little bit and warm enough to mix it using hands I am turning off the stove and am going to give it a good mix I have transferred it to a plate and the mixture got cooled a bit Initially it will look like the mixture has more nuts than the dates, but don’t worry If you measure the nuts and dates in 1:1 ratio, it will be perfect after a thorough mix Let’s mix it for some more time and once the mixture s warn, we can start making the laddus After a thorough mix, it will look like a lump Now let’s roll the small portion into laddus We have to roll and shape the laddus while the mixture is warm, otherwise the mixture will harden up as it cools Our laddus are ready now and this last step is completely optional I’m gonna coat these laddus with desiccated / dried coconut It will look good and at the same time it increases the taste You can also coat the laddus with cocoa powder instead That’s all for today, our tasty and healthy snacks are ready to enjoy It has only taken 20 minutes in total for both the dishes I hope you enjoyed these recipes, please try at home and leave your comments in the comment section Also to watch more videos like this, please subscribe to my channel Also click the bell icon for instant notification I will see you all in my next video, until then bye :).
