Hello everyone and welcome to this new tech geek video, I hope you are well. I apologize for the delay it took to be able to present a new product to you, you know as much as I do, that it is not obvious, especially with the current event of covid-19, confinements and all that goes with it, time is running out and it’s taking longer than expected, and unfortunately YouTube is not my job, it’s a passion that I share with you, but if one day it becomes a job, you would not miss every day of video which will be presented at the level of the YouTube channel. So today I present you something new, it is the viltrox model DC-50 field monitor this is a simple five inch LCD monitor with an HDMI input that I will be using with my Nikon d5200, this is an 800 by 600 resolution monitor and it appears to be a direct clone of the Sony CLM-V55 monitors since both have the same resolution the same cover and they look alike, not sure if this is an allowed clone but in any case it remains identical to a ready detail, in addition it remains much cheaper as the Sony Monitor; so let’s take a closer look, as soon as the box is opened we find the manual, the warranty card, we also have a mini HDMI to HDMI cable and HDMI to HDMI which remains very practical we have two filming supports, a spring-loaded lens hood that I really like so that it protects the screen when it’s not in use. as well as a carrying pouch. The screen can be powered in several ways, either by mains electricity, by USB power supply or with a suitable battery according to the references mentioned above. There is also a built-in speaker on the back to avoid during recording to avoid sound feedback, but the great thing is that the screen is plug and play even if the resolution will not be as good but remains essentially good to record with on my D5200 so it’s still really nice to be able to frame our shots and see it from the front, I had time to read the manual and go through the settings menu and test it and so this is really a great little video lcd monitor but one thing that is negative i would say about the only negative i can see it is the fact that the colors are not very precise, so if you look at pictures on it it will be a bit posterized on skin tones but i would never trust any lcd to choose my white balance or exposure in any case until proven guilty, I would have liked there to be a battery or power source because out of the box you can’t use everything right now, besides, we have the menu parameters that we will have directly in it, their only point you need to know is where the button is to go and set them and to be able to customize your menus so it’s going to be that little toggle switch on the side that goes up and down and pressed to choose, it’s a bit small for little fingers but it is still achievable, you tap it once and it gives you all of your menu items, the first thing what I would recommend is if you are going to use it to record video, it’s good that it has a built-in speaker but it will give you feedback which is not a good thing, so remember to deactivate it during your recording especially if you are with a client but want to take pictures or present a video for a client the fact that you have a built-in speaker is really nice to make him hear a bit or just to make sure you have the audio recorded correctly, the two settings I really like to play with are the crop settings.
04:45 - i press it and in auto mode, it shows you pretty much what you need to know the ISO aperture as well as a shutter but what is cool is that they also have a mode here called DSLR and the DSLR mode will fill the whole frame with your picture, and this is one of the coolest parts, now you can switch to the front or back screen with the information since the screen remains in reading mode but auto mode will just choose 16: 9 mode automatically for me but that being said again if you just recorded you can choose DSLR mode and if not do not crop in your picture and it will show you the full picture which is really good so let’s come back here and we’ll see another menu item it’s the peack focus function, this helps to frame the images but it would be really nice if I could use it too to determine concentration and thus better concentrate, the peak function and how it works is by describing what it thinks is in the center of the white now there is a black and white mode i have no idea what it does or its use, because I do not know more since the screen is not at its high resolution to trust and determine the focus and the blue mode I don’t even think it does anything however the focus mode will be interesting to test and if I focus on the inside and the outside, you will notice that this helps to say that it becomes just white or surrounded by white and that’s what’s in the center is all white too now I’m going to see if it’s really useful in real life and I find it sometimes very difficult to focus on the back of the camera with the LCD screen because it is so small and therefore a five inch monitor with the peak function, I think it will be nice, I leave you the links below in the description. And that’s all for this video, I hope this video will be useful to you, I hope it will be a recovery on the YouTube channel, especially since it’s been several weeks that I did not post a video, do not hesitate to mention your opinion in the comments, to share with your friends, let it be this video if you are interested and they are interested or other videos in the High-Tech part where I do Unboxing or even tutorials in the PC or Smartphone part, do not hesitate to give your overall opinion whether for the product or for something else, and if you wish to exchange, do not hesitate to come on social networks I will always be available, well I tell you see you soon for a new video, above all, be well, protect yourself well, Ciao… .
