Ubuntu True Desktop (Feat. Ubuntu 20.04 & GNOME 3.36)

And so, welcome back to another super lazy baby WOGUE episode! Gosh! I’m bored to death! So, today we will practice science and we will conduct a very simple experiment! On a default Ubuntu 20.04, we will remove whatever module Canonical developers have contributed less than 1%, and see what happens! Don’t be scared! It won’t take long! I’ll start from GNOME Shell that Canonical contributes lately. I’m not sure if they cover the 1%, but I’ll be kind and I will accept that!

    SMB over QUIC

[MUSIC] Hey folks, Ned Pyle here again. Today, I’m going to talk about a new option coming to Windows server and Windows client, it’s called QUIC and it’s for the SMB protocol. What it will allow you to do is take your mobile users, your hybrid users, your traveling Internet users, and instead of using a VPN, tunnel your SMB traffic over this QUIC protocol which is a UDP, TLS, highly secure, easily firewall traversing protocol.

    SMB compression

Hey folks, Ned Pyle here again. Today I’m going to talk about a new feature coming to Windows and Windows Server. It is SMB compression. You have been using compression with zip files and other technologies probably your entire IT career. Windows Admin Center: Create Azure VM on the fly

Hey folks. Ned Pyle here again. Today I’m going to talk about a new option for storage replica when you’re using Windows Admin Center, and that’s the ability to deploy new Azure VMs on the fly as you’re setting up an initial sync partner for asynchronous block replication. So it’s a lot of complex stuff. What I’m basically saying is rather than you provisioning your own server and building the whole thing and some other site, you can use Azure now to protect your workloads with storage replica and deploy the whole thing with the push of a button.

Windows Admin Center: Create a VM

[MUSIC]. >> Hey folks, Ned Pyle here again. Today, I’m going to talk about a option that we released in October for the Windows Admin Center. It is now the ability for you to generate on the fly Azure VMs, all within Windows Admin Center, never leaving to go to the Azure portal in line with your workflow. It works within several workloads, but it also just works when you’re setting up a connection in Windows Admin Center.

The mechanism of the Addimult Ziffrex

In this video I’ll show you the mechanism of the Addimult Ziffrex. These input levers are connected to these toothed segments, and those are connected to the main register through an intermediate gear, so when you move the lever the gear moves in the same direction. If I press this input clearing button, the whole section of input leavers moves backwards releasing them from the rest of the mechanism and allowing them to be returned to the beginning through a spring.

    The Addimult Ziffrex adding machine

This is the Addimult Ziffrex. It’s quite a large, bulky adding machine, but it’s fairly simple. Functionally it is very simillar to the Addi 7, or the Triumphator Klein-Addiermaschine, but internally the mechanism is more similar to the Resulta. Both of those are much smaller machines than this one. So this one was made by Addimult. It was made in around 1957. It has a serial number at the bottom, 10275, but that doesn’t mean that there were 10000 of these made.
