Combating SARS-CoV-2 with precision medicine
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the wellbeing and lifestyle of people all over the world. It is now known that pre-existing health conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes can enhance the severity of the disease and people’s susceptibility to infection. Curiously, however, relatively lower rates of infection and mortality have been registered in the Gulf states—where those very health conditions are extremely prevalent. A new study by researchers from Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait suggests that variations in population-wide genetics could account for that disparity.

How to Avoid the Inventory Paradox in Supply Chain Network Modeling
Hi everyone, my name is Jeff Zoroya. I’m a principal in the supply chain design practice at Chainalytics. Inventory is an effective supply chain tool but it can also be very costly. You can leverage inventory to make your supply chain more responsive to changes in demand, and less prone to product shortages. However, inventory ties up working capital and increases your storage requirements. So it’s important to get it just right when you are evaluating changes to your supply chain network.

I’m a member of the speech Neurophysiology lab at the University of Michigan and what our group investigates is developmental stuttering in adults and children What exactly is stuttering though We all may have the common idea that stuttering is the repetition of certain Syllables or words in a sentence of speech and this is for the most part, correct We use the more formal definition in our lab though.

Eculizumab: A Review in Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, or NMOSD, is a rare auto- immune demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Now considered a separate disorder from multiple sclerosis, NMOSD can be severely disabling and life-threatening, with a reported mortality of between 7 and 32%. The hallmark of the disease is recurrent attacksof optic neuritis and/or transverse myelitis that result in accumulating, irreversible disability, including blindness and paraplegia. Approximately 75 to 90% of patients with NMOSD have a disease- specific, pathogenic IgG autoantibody against the aquaporin-4 water channel, or AQP4.
