Modified Thermodilution in Extracorporeal Therapy
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO, is a vital rescue therapy for patients experiencing severe cardiopulmonary failure. With ECMO, a specialized heart-lung machine re-oxygenates blood and pumps it throughout the body, bypassing the heart and lungs for extended periods. But when patients are weaned off of ECMO, there is no good way of evaluating a patient’s heart function. To solve this problem, scientists at the University of Bern in Switzerland adapted a thermodilution technique.

There’s this term called AIOps, which stands for AI augmented operations, and here we’re using technologies like anomaly detection which has been proven already in the financial industry to detect anomalies in stocks being traded or in the medical world where we can detect breast cancer by just looking at large amounts of images and machines and AI can detect these anomalies quite good.

hi in this video we’ll have a quick look at building a native linux app with the Visual Basic language using Mercury. Windows 10 can run Linux apps locally so let us first check if we have the Windows Subsystem for Linux installed by going to the Start Menu and looking for “bash”. Run it. Before we can debug :inux apps we need to install GDB Server. We only need to do this once, so type in this command.

The GS20 drives have lots of PID options and features. But that also means there are lots of additional parameters to wrap your head around and that can make getting started with PID even more intimidating than usual. So in this video series I’m going to show you how to filter out all the chaff and get a simple PID application up and running quickly. Our goal is to have the GS20 drive use PID to automatically maintain the pressure in this system regardless of how many valves are open.

25-Hydroxyvitamin D assay standardization and vitamin D guidelines paralysis
Vitamin D guidelines are currently in a state of paralysis. The problem: the numerous competing ways of measuring levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D, a slightly modified form of vitamin D in the body. This lack of standardization has produced three conflicting sets of guidelines for defining vitamin D status across the globe, those from the UK, the US, and the Endocrine Society. The guidelines from the UK and US set similar standards, defining vitamin D deficiency as 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations less than 10 to 12 nanograms per milliliter.
